Welcome to the Silly Nilly Studio, a custom party studio. Come in, make yourself at home, grab a glass of iced tea or a mimosa (or since we are in Texas now, a Margarita will be just fine), view our projects, and post comments. If you stay long enough, we may even consider you to be like family. Enjoy!

Day Five...Christmas Lights Scavenger Hunt

This is part one. You may think, "really, how many parts are there?" Well, let's just say, we love this activity so we are in the car A LOT during the holidays. We put hot chocolate in a thermos for each of the kiddos and go driving around listening to Christmas Music. Most of the time, since we live in Texas it is not a cold as we would like it so we crank the car AC on high so we can still wear our gloves.

This is always a good "behavior modification" game. If they are fussing after school or not doing their homework (bc we all know how hard it is to focus in December), then I threaten, "ok, I guess we won't go Christmas Light Scavenger Hunting tonight". That always gets their attention.

The list includes things like Santa in an airplane or helicopter, Santa on the roof, a toy soldier, a nativity scene, and this year a bonus hunt for Olaf, the Frozen snowman. I'm sure it won't be hard to find. DOWNLOAD HERE

Have fun and let me know on FB if you found all of the lights. I'd also like to hear about any interesting displays you found. Maybe it will make another scavenger hunt list.

Tank dresses—a build-a-dress funpalooza!

These adorable dresses are so simple and fun for summer. Last summer, a few of my daughter's friends and their mom's got together to enjoy a free concert at Market Street. The Woodlands Market Street is an open air shopping center, located adjacent to The Woodlands. We picnic, drink wine, listen to great music, and watch our children run around enjoying the freedom of no boundaries, no real rules, and they can laugh, and giggle, and scream in little girl screams without any stern looks from the adults. This particular evening, I brought Silly Nilly dresses to do a photo shoot. I never posted these pictures because a week later I took them to a show and all 30 of them sold within an hour of the show. A sign that these are very popular summer dresses.

Well, we are going to make them again this summer. The only difference is, you can choose from our premade fabric combinations or you can design the dress yourself. I will post combinations of fabric, shirt choices, and silhouette choices. It's like a "build-a-dress" funpalooza!

Fabric choices will be posted this week. Check our Facebook page for details.

I can't wait to work with all of you. I am super-excited about this project.
